Homework is set regularly for all children as a means of supplementing classwork. The task set can be in a variety of forms such as reading, writing, research or practical activities. The work becomes more formal as the children progress through the school in order to prepare them for high school. In addition to these activities, the children have weekly spelling and arithmetic tests.

We work closely with parents to ensure that homework is completed to the same standards as classwork and is returned to school on time.  Please see the homework timetable below.

There are varying parental views on the subject of homework; some say the children get too much homework, others too little! The vast majority of parents fully support the Homework Policy, however, the school does have an opt-out clause for those parents who do not wish their child to have homework.

Please see the Homework Policy in the Policies, Plans and Reports section, found at the top of this page.
