Behaviour

‘Pupils’ are delightful.  They are extremely polite and welcoming to visitors and their behaviour around the school is excellent.

Ofsted, September 2017

We pride ourselves on the positive relationships between staff and children which are based on mutual respect. We encourage our children to develop self-discipline and to be aware of the needs of others. Although this is a forward thinking school our Behaviour Policy is based on good old fashioned manners and respect for others!

We see the ultimate purpose of education as the promotion of ‘life in all its fullness’ - it is about developing people who can flourish in all areas of their lives.

Guilden Sutton Church of England Primary School expects the very best standards of behaviour, but recognises that the best way to ensure these standards are maintained are through a belief in reflection, forgiveness and reconciliation. By getting our pupils to think about the choices they make we hope to give them the strategies to make caring ones. When choices lead to incidents we do not want to see, the pupil will be asked to reflect on what has happened. When the appropriate apology and forgiveness from the person or persons affected by the incident has taken place, the children come to understand the importance of the Christian belief of forgiveness.
